Hyperbole/Exaggeration poem:

CAPABLE CAITLIN

Her bedroom is so messy that you can't see the floor,
She reads so quickly that she can read 12 novels a day,
Her eyes are as blue as the most vast of oceans,
Her hair shines with the brightness of 1,000 light bulbs,
Her smile lights up a room,
Her laugh is as big as Niagra falls,
She's as carnivourous as a lion,
An unexpected bee can bring her to her knees.

Sonnet:
10 syllables each line
Freya

With her beautiful silver stripy fur, Quatrain 1
With her swiftness to put a mouse in pain,
She'll have all the vermin afraid of her,
She is surely not in the least bit tame.

She has wide staring eyes when she hunts mice, Quatrain 2
When she hunts in and around the chook pen,
Every pest will be gone in a thrice,
It's strange how she never catches a hen.

Her high-pitched meow and her soft, sweet purr, Quatrain 3
When patted she never unsheaths her claws,
She enjoys it when you try to pat her,
She usually lets you touch her paws.

Freya, as fearsome as you can be, Rhyming couplet
I love you, 'cause I know that you love me.

Earthquake response:

I think that the people that came to talk to us were very lucky to not be hurt in the quake and also to see Christchurch before the quake and it sort of reminded me of how I felt when dad had his stroke-Shocked and scared.
I hope that Christchurch will be able to recover from this earthquake like it did after the one in September.

Statistics

In my statistics investigation I worked with Aria and Shahani. We surveyed people about the canteen at school. We asked the class if there is anything that they want to see happen at the canteen. A lot of the people that we surveyed said that the food should be cheaper and that they would like a better range of food. We then took eleven random people from the classroom and asked them how often they go to the canteen and what they get most often from the canteen. We then interviewed the canteen staff about our findings. We put the information that we found on bar charts and pie graphs.
I think that we could have had better time management.
